Students
Vertical Student Ministries exists to glorify God by making disciples of middle school and high school students. Students are taught who Jesus Christ is and what that means for their lives from the verse-by-verse teaching of Scripture. They're given the opportunity to worship their Savior together with a student-led worship team. Finally, they're encouraged to be real with each other and take new ground in their relationship with Christ through small group discussion with their peers. We'd love to welcome your students into a community of fun, fellowship, and faith. Join us this Sunday evening!
Questions before you visit?
What will my student learn?
From the authority of God's Word, your student will learn who Jesus Christ is, and their need for Him as their Lord and Savior. They'll also learn what it looks like to live their lives for Him, while surrounded by a community of other high school and middle school students taking new ground toward that same goal. Through small groups, your student will learn how to think through what they believe and how to submit to God's Word as their authority. Your student will also have the opportunity to learn what it means to invest in the lives of their friends, encouraging and being encouraged toward personal holiness as they chase after a deeper love and obedience to Jesus Christ.
What should my student wear?
We disciple hard, but we also play hard at Student Ministries! Unless there is a special event or party at Vertical Student Ministries, your student should come dressed in clothes they're able to run and jump in comfortably.
Part of encouraging a culture of selflessness and a focus on Christ means that we require all students who attend Student Ministries events to follow the Modesty Standards included in our Code of Conduct. Instead of allowing the culture or even our own comfort level to decide how we dress, we want to teach students how to submit to Christ's command to "think of others as more important than yourself." (Philippians 2:3)
Does my student need to attend Vertical on Sunday mornings in order to attend Student Ministries?
No; we welcome students to Vertical Church whenever they are able to attend, whether that turns out to be Sunday morning worship services, Sunday evening Student Ministries, or both!
